3 Essential C-Section Recovery Tips for Faster Healing After Cesarean Birth
If you’re preparing for a cesarean birth or currently recovering from one, I want you to remember my “3 B’s” for smoother healing after belly birth: Bubblegum, Belly Binder, and Breathe.
First: chew bubblegum. It sounds simple, but chewing gum after a c-section can help wake up digestion and support bowel function after surgery. Many moms are surprised by how much this tiny recovery tip helps them feel more comfortable in those first few days postpartum.
Second: bring a belly binder. A supportive binder can help you feel more secure when moving, standing, coughing, laughing, or feeding your baby. It may also help reduce discomfort while your core begins to heal and reconnect after surgery.
Third: breathe. Deep diaphragmatic breathing is one of the most overlooked recovery tools after a cesarean. Gentle breathwork supports your pelvic floor, core healing, circulation, and nervous system regulation while helping you reconnect with your body after birth.
Because c-section recovery deserves more support than “just rest,” I created a 5-hour C-Section Recovery Course designed to help you recover more smoothly with less body discomfort and a stronger core and pelvic floor after birth. This course is only $39.99 and once you purchase it, you have full access to the classes for life.
The classes are short, bite-sized classes that slowly re-introduce movement and exercise in a supportive way. While they are great to do immediately after your recovery, you can start these classes at anytime and build a strong foundation and level up as your’re ready.
I’ve shared this course with all of my doula clients recovering from cesarean births and now I’m sharing it with you, too.
